On the first day of the new academic year (2021-2022), the Egyptian Russian University witnessed the reception of the new and old students. All the university’s facilities and faculties were decorated with congratulating and welcoming banners for the new students,  and their associates.

Prof. Dr. Sherif Fakhry Mohamed Abdel Naby, President of the Egyptian Russian University, announced that the university administration organized a number of introductory lectures in each faculty to clarify the academic system, academic guidance and the general rules of the faculties to the students so that they can stick to them. Moreover, introductions to the various student activities and service facilities inside the campus and what they present and presentation on the university’s plan of activities for the new academic year were held to urge the new students to join and actively participate in them.

The President of the Egyptian Russian University confirmed that vaccination with the new anti-Coronavirus vaccine is a prerequisite for all university affiliates to enter the university campus, and students will not receive their ID cards for this year (2021/2022), except after submitting a proof of being vaccinated. He added that work is continuing in the university’s vaccination center to vaccinate those who failed to receive the vaccine on the previously specified date. Concurrently, it was emphasized to keep all the precautionary measures taken by the university administration to deal with the Corona pandemic in all university’s facilities.

In the same context, Professor Ikram Mohamed, Secretary-General of the Egyptian Russian University, confirmed that the university’s plan includes banning the presence of students and workers inside the university without a mask, and a heavy fine was imposed on anyone who violates this, in addition to limiting the number of students inside lecture halls and practical lessons in Labs, workshops, and service facilities.

The Secretary-General of the Egyptian Russian University explained that a package of restrictions had been put on the university’s cafeterias in terms of capacity, to maintain a physical distance of two meters between students by putting standing signs in front of cafeterias, to use single-use utensils, and to follow disinfection procedures for all facilities inside the university campus.

For her part, Dr. Hana Abdel Rahman, the pioneer of student activities and director of the medical department at the Egyptian Russian University, indicated that the university administration was keen on taking all the necessary measures to welcome new students in accordance with the applied procedures to confront the conditions of the “Covid 19 pandemic”, and to provide them with a safe university environment In order to ensure the students’ safety and the continuity of the educational process. Noting that isolating rooms have been allocated to keep the infected students in them during the day, until transferring them to hospital to take the necessary measures and medicines for emergency cases inside the clinics at the university will be provided.

Dr. Hana Abdel Rahman reported that representatives of the university’s student union spread in large numbers in most parts of the university’s faculties to distribute gifts to the new students and to introduce the locations of faculties, and university facilities such as the university presidency building, administration, library, medical clinics, food court, Student affairs, mosque, labs and workshops. Furthermore, she emphasized the importance of student families and the students’ union and their role in organizing activities that contribute in consolidating the human and social ties between students and their integration with society, whether inside or outside the university, and instilling the spirit of loyalty and belonging to the homeland.
