The Egyptian Russian University in Cairo, in cooperation with the international Company Huawei, organized an event to announce the launching of the “ Huawei ICT Competition “ in its third edition, in the conference hall on the university campus in Badr City. During this event, the training courses offered by Huawei Company were reviewed which came within the joint cooperation agreement between the two parties; to train students, graduates, and graduates of other colleges and academies through the academy established at the university.                        

Dr. Sherif Fakhry, president of the Egyptian Russian University, announced that this meeting was held according to the protocol signed with the international “ Huawei “ Company; to establish a “ Huawei Academy” on Campus to train students from university faculties or graduates from other universities and academies.             He added that the meeting aims to introduce the students to training and equip them with the necessary skills and major competitions which are held by “Huawei “ at the international level to spread the culture of communication technology and intelligence to keep pace with the country’s requirements to contribute to the digital transformation in its plan until ( 2030).                 

 Meanwhile, Dr. Alaa El-Batsh, Dean of Faculty of Engineering at the Egyptian Russian University, asserted that holding these meetings is a great opportunity for students and graduates to learn all that is new in the “ Science of Communication Engineering Technology, Artificial Intelligence and Information Technology “, through the world’s leading companies in these fields, such as “Huawei “.  He also pointed out that this helps students to obtain good job opportunities through the company’s nominations for companies working with it and using its technology: especially in the fields of “ networks and cloud engineering “ which most local and international companies, private and governmental are flocking to.                     

Eng. Amer zayed, Executive Director of Huawei’s pioneering training program “ ITB -ICI talent bank “ stated that the aim of these competitions and meetings is to create a bank for outstanding human capabilities in the field of information and communication technology “ ITB “ , to participate in building the ICT capabilities which are necessary to implement the digital transformation strategy in Egypt. It also helps to make Egypt a center of excellence and a Bank for ICT talents in the region and the world, as well as building a link between distinguished capabilities and the labor market.

On her behalf, Eng. Asmaa Serag, Head of the Training Department at Huawei Egypt indicated that the university students participating in the competition will be nominated through several tests to enter a competition and select the distinguished among them to represent the university in a test at the level of all universities of the Republic. Then the students will be divided into teams in the North African Competition stage and final stage to represent Egypt in the global competition at the level of the countries of the world in “China “. The winning team will receive a certificate of appreciation, valuable “ Huawei “ prizes, and grants to complete their studies in the fields of “ Communication Technology, Information Technology, and Artificial Intelligence “. 

On his behalf, Dr. Tamer Salah, Executive Director of the Huawei Academy at the Egyptian Russian University, explained that this cooperation between the university and “Huawei “ creates good job opportunities for graduates in the field of modern technology, especially the field of artificial intelligence, and decrease the unemployment rate among young people and makes the Egyptian graduate a pioneer in the field of communications technology in the region and the world. He also revealed that it is necessary to take advantage of the electronic platform of” Huawei Company “, including scientific contents available to all those registered with it and the programs for some of these courses, which aim to raise the efficiency of the Egyptian graduate in the areas of “ Networks, Artificial Intelligence, Information Technology, and the Internet “. At the end of the meeting, Dr. Sherif Fakhry, president of the Egyptian Russian University presented the university’s shield to the representatives of “Huawei “ company appreciating their tireless efforts with the university students and graduates. He also honored the trainers who were trained by experts from Huawei and the trainees who were trained by these trainers who obtained international certificates in the field of AI and Networks.
