For the seventh year in a row, the faculty of Engineering at the Egyptian Russian University inaugurates the “Robots” exhibition with 100 student projects-

Prof. Dr. Sherif Fakhry, President of the Egyptian Russian University, stated that the Faculty of Engineering organized the “Robots and Internet of Things” exhibition, in which more than (100) second semester’s student projects of different levels of the “Communications” and “Mechatronics and Robotics” departments were presented for the academic year (2021-2022). This exhibition is held periodically every academic year for the “seventh year in a row”. It included a number of outstanding projects for many courses for the two departments, with the support of Dr. Mohamed Kamal Mustafa, Chairman of the University’s Board of Trustees.

The President of the Egyptian Russian University paid the tribute to the exerted efforts in the organization and the level of the participating projects within the exhibition. Besides, he announced that some of those distinguished projects will be nominated for adoption by the university in the coming period in the field of entrepreneurship and for participation in some external competitions. He clarified that one of the objectives of this type of exhibition is the implementation of the state’s plan towards digital transformation and the application of advanced technologies. As a result of this success, the first-places awarded students will be honored for their outstanding projects

Within the same context, Dr. Alaa El-Batsh, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at the Egyptian Russian University, illustrated that this exhibition comes as an implementation of the state’s endeavors to encourage students to the field of scientific research and innovation, pave the way for students to share their ideas and  solve some societal problems and facilitate life for citizens through these projects, especially in the field of sustainable development to make Egypt one of the leading countries in advanced technical sciences.

The Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at the Egyptian Russian University added that the exhibition helps students implement their innovations by putting what they have learned in some academic courses throughout the academic year into practice. Some of the audiences from the Egyptian Space Agency, figures of academic education, industrialists, the owners of companies, public figures, and university members from various university faculties, who attended the exhibition’s activities expressed their admiration to the students’ projects.

Dr. Ahmed Seddik, the assistant professor in the Communications Department at the faculty of Engineering, indicated that the ideas of the students’ projects in the exhibition keep pace with the rapid industrial development using modern technologies. Among the participating projects that showed the creativity of their developers are:

A car with robotic arm that is controlled through the Internet.

A Smart lighting system for street lighting

Arduino robot management using mobile phone sensor.

Contactless faucet with opening control to protect against Covid disease.

A small printer using a pen and an Arduino unit.

A guidance system towards sunlight using an Arduino unit.

For his part, Dr. Tamer Saleh, an assistant professor in the Communications Department at the Faculty of Engineering at the Egyptian Russian University and the supervisor of the exhibition’s organization, confirmed that the exhibition was attended by more than (500) students from different levels of Communications and Mechatronics and Robotics departments. Exchanging the experiences among the students in these scientific fairs under the supervision of faculty members, and informing them of the latest scientific ideas and innovations to reach the goal of the actual application of these ideas and innovations and graduating an engineer capable of competing in the labor market is are among the objectives of the exhibition according to Dr. Tamer Saleh.

Dr. Tamer Saleh thanked the faculty members at the faculty of Engineering for the high level of the exhibition and the exerted efforts in the organization and implementation of the outstanding students’ projects to show the exhibition in the honorable image that appeared on it. He noted that the projects were presented, discussed and evaluated under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed Seddik, the assistant professor in the Communications Department “chairman”, Eng. Mohamed Maher, the lecturer in the Communications Department “member”, and Eng. Anas Saber, the lecturer in the Communications Department “Member”, And Eng. Assem Reda, the teaching assistant in the Mechatronics Department, “Member”.

The student exhibition “Robots and the Internet of Things” was attended by:

– Eng. Wassim Hossam Issa, director of the Universities Training Moon Project at the Egyptian Space Agency.

– Engineer Mahmoud Hassan, Director of the Synchronous Design Laboratory at the Egyptian Space Agency.

– Eng. Tamer Mohamed Anwar, Training Projects Design Engineer at the Universities Training Satellite Project at the Egyptian Space Agency.

– Eng. Saeed Farag Azer, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Sepimatic Dynamic Industries, Badr City.

– Eng. Mohamed Shalaby, President of the Small and Medium Industries Association in Badr City.

– Eng. Mohamed Abdel-Murdi, Sales Manager at EMS.

 It should be recalled that the exhibition was helped by a group of distinguished students from different academic teams in the college who are :Mustafa Tarek, Mohamed Samir, Mohamed Bassiouni, Mohamed Salehin, Ahmed Sherif, Ahmed Badawy, Mohamed Ayman, Ahmed Walid, Karim Salah, Mohamed Orabi, Omar Khaled , Abdul Rahman Khalifa, Abdul Latif Aslam, Nada Wael, Noha Wael, Afnan Mamdouh, Rawan Badir, Maryam Muhammad, Muhammad Al-Eidi, Menna Allah Al-Falah, Kyrollos Emad, Amr Ismail, Abdullah Al-Sayed, Ahmed Saeed, Muhammad Wael, Mayar Amir, and Abd Rahman Badran.
