Dr. Alaa Mohamed El-Batsh, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at the Egyptian-Russian University (ERU), announced that the faculty administration welcomes new students who have graduated from high school or the equivalent to join it. Since its establishment, the faculty has sought to achieve its vision, which is to occupy a prominent position among the Egyptian, Arab, and international engineering faculties, with the support of Dr. Mohamed Kamal El-Sayed Mostafa, Chairman of the University’s Board of Trustees, and the patronage of Dr. Sherif Fakhry Mohamed Abdel-Nabi, President of the University.
The Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at the ERU indicated that the academic degrees granted by the faculty are accredited by “The Supreme Council of Universities and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research”, pointing out that so far “12” batches of qualified engineers have been graduated who have a good reputation in the “local, regional, and international” job market.
Dr. El-Batsh explained that the key advantages of the Faculty of Engineering at the ERU, which attract high school graduates and those who have equivalent certificates, are the following:
1- The faculty currently has four distinct programs accredited by the Supreme Council of Universities and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, which are “communication engineering, mechatronics and robotics engineering, construction engineering, and architecture”.
2- The list of the faculty programs has been updated according to the latest framework for the engineering sector committee to keep up with future jobs.
3- New specializations are created to keep up with scientific development in the field of engineering. Also, work is underway to start studying in three new programs aligned with the requirements and needs of the actual current and future job market:
- Electro-mechanical Engineering
- Energy Engineering
- Biomedical Engineering.
4- All the faculty programs are accredited by the Arab Organization for Engineering and Technological Accreditation, the Federation of Arab Engineers, thus increasing the opportunities for graduates to compete in the local and regional job markets.
5- The faculty applied for the accreditation of its programs from the National Authority for Quality Assurance of Education and Accreditation in accordance with the national academic standards and the competencies and skills of engineering education.
6- There is a possibility of obtaining a double degree from the faculty and another from one of the distinguished Russian universities, as the faculty has cooperation agreements with the best Russian universities, which allows the exchange of students and the granting of dual degrees (Egyptian and Russian). This provides the graduate with international job opportunities beside the local and regional ones.
7- Participation in local, regional, and international competitions and obtaining many prizes can be also achieved.
8- A number of student exhibitions and competitions are held every semester or annually for some course and graduation projects of the final year students in the faculty.
9- Participation in local exhibitions and forums is available.
10- Cooperation protocols are established with distinct entities to serve the educational process, students, and society.
11- The faculty offers scholarships to outstanding and diligent students who have a high GPA.
12- The faculty and university care about students scientifically, socially, medically, and technically by providing all capabilities and organizing national, social, and educational trips and events.
13- The university is interested in students’ sports activities by providing stadiums and participating in competitions at the level of Egyptian universities.
14- A library is provided with a large number of references and scientific books updated on a constant basis.
The Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at the ERU mentioned some of the achievements made in the previous period, including the following:
Two Teaching Assistants were among the top ten trainers in the field of “artificial intelligence” for the year 2021 at the level of Huawei academies for all Egyptian universities.
The students of the “Neutrino Racing Team” at the faculty participated in the second edition of the “Ever Green 2019” competition, and the team won a well-deserved second place at the level of Egyptian universities in the second rally that was held in the New Administrative Capital.
Dr. El-Batsh further stated that the faculty students received a shield of appreciation for their participation in the third rally of locally made electric cars. He also noted that the students of the Department of Construction Engineering at the faculty won first place at the level of Egyptian universities in the SPAGHETTI BRIDGE COMPETITION that was held at the Link Academy in 2018.
The Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at the ERU pointed out that the Faculty of Engineering is the only one that got two places, “sixth and tenth”, out of 56 teams in the space agency’s competition for the year 2020, to become the only university in which two teams are participating among the ten teams that will participate in making the universities’ satellite. The satellite lab was inaugurated in cooperation with the Egyptian Space Agency inside the university campus, and student Mustafa Tarek Youssef won third place in the Huawei global competition.
Dr. El-Batsh indicated that student exhibitions and competitions are held every semester or annually for some course projects and graduation projects of students of the final year students in the faculty.
