The details of the Egyptian-Russian University students’ visit to the Egyptian Space Agency…with pictures

Dr. Sherif Fakhri Mohamed Abdelnabi, President of the Egyptian-Russian University, announced that an educational visit was organized for the Faculty of Engineering students to the Egyptian Space Agency (EgSA), based on the protocol signed between the university and the EgSA, to identify its laboratories and equipment in accordance with their specialties in the fields of “communication engineering.” He pointed out that the visit was supported by Dr. Mohamed Kamal Mustafa, Chairman of the University’s Board of Trustees.

In the same context, Dr. Alaa Al-Batsh, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at the Egyptian-Russian University, added that the students learned about the types of satellites, their categories and structures, and the ways of designing and developing satellite structures through the stages of making the design using computers, conducting dynamic tests, and doing the final preparations for launch. He explained that these field educational trips help to stabilize the studied information in the minds of the faculty students by seeing the various types of engineering parts and tests on the ground in the major specialized institutions.

For her part, Dr. Shaimaa Mustafa Gaber, Head of the Communications Department at the Faculty of Engineering at the Egyptian-Russian University, confirmed that the students’ tour of the EgSA included: the space payload laboratory, engineering model, and educational satellite project and laboratory. She stated that the students were welcomed by the EgSA officials who expressed their delight for such a visit of the promising future generation of the university youth. She revealed that the visit was accompanied by Dr. Marwa Hamed, Teacher in the Communications Department of the faculty and Eng. Mohamed Abdelmoneim and Anas Saber, Teaching Assistants in the department.

In the same context, Dr. Tamer Saleh, Teacher in the Communications Department at the Faculty of Engineering at the Egyptian-Russian University, pointed out that the practical educational journey, for the students of the Department of Communication Engineering, resulted in students getting to know the latest developments and updates that are currently being implemented on the ground from the activities of the field of “satellite technology and space.” He explained that the students expressed their happiness with this visit where they inspected the laboratories and attended lectures prepared by the EgSA’s experts in different disciplines, which reflected to a large extent the size of the effort exerted to design and test satellite systems.
