The participation of the Egyptian Russian University in an inaugural lecture in the conference of Post- Graduate College of Nanotechnology, Cairo University

Dr. Essam Khamis, Vice President of the Egyptian Russian University Cairo delivered an inaugural lecture titled “A global consensus on open science: recommendations and suggestions” in the first conference at post- graduate college of Nanotechnology titled “Foreseeing the future of nanotechnology: vision and application …. Obstacles and solutions” at the college headquarters, Cairo University Branch – Sheikh Zayed City, under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Mohamed Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and Prof. Dr. Mohamed Othman Elkhosht, President of Cairo University and President of the Conference Prof. Dr. Rabab El-Sherif, Dean of the Faculty of postgraduate Studies for Nanotechnology, Cairo University, and the conference rapporteur, Prof. Dr. Khaled Soliman, during the period 24-26 September 2022. The conference was participated by Prof.Dr., Mohamed Al-Attar, Vice President of Cairo University for postgraduate Studies and Research, and Major General Dr. Engineer Osama El-Gamal, National Defense College, Nasser Higher Military Academy.

Dr. Issam Khamis’ lecture handled the following topics:

Open educational resources, definition of open science, the need for open science, objectives of open science, components of open science, the five basic pillars of open science, the four core values ​​of open science, the six guiding principles for making open science a reality, How open science can facilitate the production and dissemination of scientific knowledge?, and ended the lecture by discussing a proposal for recommendations for the application of open science in the Arab countries, and shedding light on some examples of the application of open science in the Arab Republic of Egypt.
